White Cross Children’s Home

It was never really too late to start the year right, isn’t it? There was never really a perfect time to share some goodness and charity especially to those little angels who gives you costly pleasure.
Team Kanlungan made its way to White Cross Children’s Home Inc. an orphanage in San Juan, Manila. It was merely a work of love to everyone who whole heartedly shares their time and resources, but for the people behind this institution, who enormously take the undertaking of this orphanage; it was a work of God. As per I may quote their founder, Mrs. Victoria Lopez de Araneta, “But this is the work of God. We may not succeed, but White cross will never fail.” There may be times which are merely inevitable that they may suffer insufficient funds and resources but with their faith to our God, they believed and they have claimed that God will never fail them in taking care of His beloved children. The hope that this work of God brings will continually lives on as long as there are people who selfishly share their blessings, gives time and resources to the needy ones.

It was a heart breaking experience; an eye opener to everyone, to all of us who irreverently complain because of any scarcity that we may have notice in our living. Stunningly those little children give us goose bumps simply by making their way to us. It gives me a sudden emotional awareness how lucky I am; how fortunate I was. Questions come across our mind why those little angels suffer negligence from their own parents and relatives, but the saddened truth won’t assure us any acceptable reasons. You can really feel how they longed to feel the experience of love and care. Almost every all of them wanted to be carried and hugged. It was really shameful to complain about the food we eat while those little ones rarely had the chance to eat good and luscious foods. Perhaps it was embarrassing to complain about the good clothes we wore while those little children felt grateful whenever they received clothes donated by benevolent people.
Each of them has their own touching stories. Sympathy and mercy will be useless if not uplifted with actions. We may not be able to give huge amount of contribution that can cater all their needs, but a simple genuine act of love and care can put a priceless cheerfulness to each of them. The best thing that we could have given for them is a continuous prayer.
“You can buy markers to mark your whole body, but you can’t buy a smile from an orphan than can mark your heart.” -Romeo M. Jr. This is a profound truth. Indisputable, the delightfulness that this ministry conveys is beyond price; nothing beats that.
For all intents and purposes, this ministry will be never achieving its triumph without the compassionate sponsors.
Blessings unexpectedly made its way to us in a much unanticipated time. We may have undergone some predicaments during the preparations but never will we be shaken by those, we know God is with us all the way. We may not be that prosperous, we may not be that resourceful, and we may not be that strong enough not to get tired of in organizing, but God owns everything, He can do impossible things possible and He gives us strength whenever we are weary.
With all sincerity, we would like to extend our gratitude to our kindhearted sponsors. We believe that God uses people to collaborate with us in fulfilling His works with His children. May God continually bless you and your family.
Let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity for God loves a cheerful giver.
